Calling all photographers!
OSMP is accepting submissions for its upcoming photography contest. Let’s share our love of horses in Boulder County and raise awareness.
Are you an amateur photographer with an eye for nature? Have you captured the beauty and excitement of the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) in a photograph? If so, consider entering the OSMP Photography Contest! This year’s contest will feature two separate contests – one for the general public and one for City of Boulder employees and their families. Entries will be judges by local professional photographers.

Entries must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014

Categories (with color and black and white subcategories):
– People and Recreation: may include shots of people and pets enjoying OSMP
– Flora & Fauna: any plant or wild animal on OSMP lands
– Scenic: landscapes that may include wildlife, agriculture, flora or other elements of OSMP
– Flood Related: images containing last year’s flood on OSMP or the aftermath on OSMP lands
– Under 18 years old: photographers under 18 years old may enter photographs from any of the above categories
– Staff: for City of Boulder employees and their families
Display: Winning photographs will be on display at the Ranger Cottage at Chautauqua Trailhead, 900 Baseline Road, Boulder, beginning Saturday, November 22, 2014.
Ribbons: Ribbons will be awarded for “Best of Show” and honorable mentions, first, second and third places in each category. The judges reserve the right to decide whether a category contains work that merits an award – all prizes may not be awarded in all categories. Decisions of the judges are final.
Prizes: Prizes from local merchants will be awarded to the two “Best of Show” winners and, as available, to first, second and third place in each category.
People’s Choice Award: There will be a ribbon and prize awarded to the “People’s Choice” winner. Winning photographs on display at the Ranger Cottage will be voted upon from November 22 through December 14, 2014 by visitors to the Ranger Cottage. The winner of the “People’s Choice” award will be announced December 16, 2014.
