Recognize emergencies, respond with confidence, and stabilize your horse while you wait for the vet. Learn about types of wounds, layers of bandaging, equine instincts, top reasons to always call your vet, and first aid kit essentials!   • Boulder County Horse Judging Team Benefit Horseshow

    The Boulder County 4-H Horse Judging Team is hosting this open show as a way to offset some of the costs of their upcoming travel expenses. Any age and level of horses and riders are welcome. The team has earned the privilege of representing Colorado 4-H at multiple national competitions during the next year, including shows in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Columbus, Ohio.

    Join BCHA friends for light bites, drinks, catching up, and a presentation by special guest, local author Sarah V. Barnes Sarah will be talking about her latest book, A Clan Chief's Daughter, the second installment of her trilogy She Who Rides Horses. Then we'll launch into a lively discussion about our favorite equine books--the ones that changed us, the ones that were so emotional, the ones that were so instructive, the ones we would pass on to others.. About tonight's speaker: Critically acclaimed, award-winning novelist Sarah V. Barnes is both a historian and a horsewoman. Her first novel, She Who Rides Horses: A Saga of the Ancient Steppe, received the 2022 Best Indie Book Award for Historical Fiction, among other prizes. A Clan Chief's Daughter represents the second installment in the She Who Rides Horses trilogy. When not writing stories, Sarah practices and teaches riding as a meditative art.
