2018 Fun Show—and what a fun day it was!

The Boulder County Horse Association would like to thank all those riders, wonderful horses, volunteers and Boulder County Fairgrounds staff who came out on October 21st, and participated in the 2018 BCHA Fun Show. Registration opened at 8 AM, remained steady all day, and not one momma bear threatened the gateman! The day started with English classes, followed by games. After the lunch break we held the ‘famously fun’ costume class and western equitation, then moved into the Gymkhana classes. The Boulder County 4-H County Hippology team served up some delicious treats and Lewis Geyer, photographer for the Longmont Times, surprised us all when he showed up to photograph the morning classes!

  • Laura Edwards for being a wonderfully engaging announcer, plus keeping the gymkhana on point while recording times and placings.
  • Jack Gathright for being the gatekeeper, staying through clean up and helping deliver items after the show.
  • Chandra Baker for filling the incredibly demanding role of office manager — you rock!
  • Tami Cassel for helping in the office with registration, afternoon ring steward and clean up.
  • Linda Parks for helping with registration and gymkhana timing.
  • Dirk Arnold for being parking and stall manager, BCHA signage, bringing BCHA items, gymkhana set up and massive amounts of clean up!
  • Alora Klatka for being the morning ring steward.
  • Liz Trombly for being our runner.
  • Dani Baker for doing ribbons, game set up and helping with gymkhana resets.
  • Jacob Singer for helping with game and gymkhana set up.
  • Steve Montgomery for helping with morning set up.
