Boulder County Horse Trails

Boulder City and County Open Space and Mountain Parks offers many wonderful trails for equestrians to ride. Trail locations offer a variety of terrain and ecology to fit the needs and desires of any rider. Some of the trailheads have designated parking spaces for horse trailers. As a courteous to other trail users please clean up manure at the trailhead, and share the trail so that everyone can have an exceptional experience.

E-bikes on Trails

As population and technology change, so does the use of trails. The latest entry into multi-trail use is the electric assisted bicycle (E-bike). In Europe where bicycle commuting is more common the E-bike has gained fast in popularity. While the emerging use here is gaining strength, our local officials are creating regulations to allow this usage to blend with current users and usage. For the purpose of the horse community, interaction with these bicyclists will be no different than with standard bike users. We might not, and probably won’t, even recognize when we are cooperating with an E-bike as opposed to a standard bicyclist.
