BCHA Fall Trail Ride & Picnic

Saturday, October 2, 2021
Beech Shelter

Last year COVID put the kibosh on everything, so it’s been a while since we’ve gotten to enjoy being out together on a ride or a picnic. On this first Saturday in October it’s our chance to get together for a fall morning ride, and then enjoy a bring-your-own picnic lunch before winter rolls in!

Bring your horse or just bring yourself—there’s something to enjoy for everyone!

The Boulder County Horse Association (BCHA) wants to create enjoyable events for horse owners as well as those who love horses but find themselves currently without an equine in their lives. If that’s you or someone you know, we hope you’ll join us for the free picnic and equine massage demo after the trail ride. Here are more details:

Trail ride

For those with horses, the reserved Beech Shelter offers plenty of space for trailer parking. Riders will depart from the Beech Shelter off Highway 36 and Neva Road.

There will be two separate rides going out (2 and 3 hours) which will explore the trails on the Beech and Boulder Valley Ranch Open Space. There is a 24 rider limit, so be sure to register to hold your space. The ride is:

  • FREE for BCHA members
  • $20 for non-members

Everyone planning to ride is asked to register.
Don’t forget to bring a signed release form with you. Download Form

Riders signed up for the three hour ride, should plan to arrive by 9:00 AM, and be ready to ride by 9:30 AM.

Riders signed up for the two hour ride, should plan on arriving at 10:00 AM, and be ready to ride by 10:30 AM.

All riders will return to the Beech Shelter by 12:30 PM in time to join up with the picnickers and equine massage demonstration.

Free Bring-your-own Picnic (all are welcome)

Riders and non-riders, BCHA members, guests and friends please bring your own picnic. BCHA will provide beverages and something sweet. We’ll gather at 12:45 PM at the Beech Shelter where there’ll be lots of room to spread out under the covered open air pavilion.

All are welcome, though I’d love it if ALL NON RIDERS emailed me to let me know you plan to come.
See you out there!
