We Are Happy to Give

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine, Diane Blessing, reached out to me to see if I had any used tack to donate to her daughters horse therapy program in Puerto Rico. As you all know Hurricane Maria left massive amounts of devastation in its wake affecting all.

As I dug through my piles of horse tack I have acquired over the years I got to thinking and remembered that a couple of years ago all our members generously donated used tack to the BCHA Used Tack Sale. Well, all the tack that did not sell has been stored n the BCHA storage locker since then. I reached out to the Board to see if they would like to donate some items. All agreed—let’s give!

On a late Saturday afternoon I dug through boxes and boxes of tack and found many treasures. Some items were still labeled by their donors. I gathered up saddle pads, bridles, stirrups, brushes, a saddle rack and more. Thanks to all those unidentified donations you made to us as we pass it forward to the West Coast Ecuestre in Puerto Rico. I am sure they will cherish all these wonderful items.

West Coast Ecuestre Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults in Western Puerto Rico through the use of equine assisted therapies and riding.
